The Gluck Fellows Program of the Arts at UC Riverside brings talented UCR students into the most underserved areas of the Riverside community to provide free performance and arts education experiences. Outreach efforts are concentrated in schools. Visits to eldercare homes bring enjoyment to those who ordinarily would not have access to live art experiences due to limited mobility. Performances and workshops in the community at museums and libraries increase accessibility for a broader audience, especially to those individuals not normally able to attend performances on the UC Riverside campus. Gluck Fellows create exciting media for people of all ages in the Gluck Creative Classroom - always available, always free!

Gluck Fellow programs are organized into three categories:

Classroom Fellow Workshops, where Fellows develop a hands-on curriculum related to their field of specialization, are designed for a classroom environment. Some Classroom Fellows are invited as ASK Residents (Artists Spark Knowledge) where they spend their entire fellowship at one site.
Performance Ensembles, including the Contemporary Dance Ensemble, and music ensembles, perform in schools with whole-grade level school assemblies or at community venues including libraries and museums.
GluckGlobal Fellows prepare media for the Gluck Creative Classroom either with the UCR Visual Resources Collection or for GluckTV on YouTube.

Gluck Fellows also offer local Family Learning events where a fellowship team will immerse participants in new arts activities, such as painting with light or making personalized tote bags, as a entry-point into ongoing art exhibitions. Gluck Fellows offer family learning activities at UCR ARTS in downtown Riverside during the city’s monthly First Sunday and First Thursday Arts Walk events.

The myriad of arts programming the Gluck Fellows Program has brought to the Riverside Community since 1996 - over 25 years - is driven by a core belief that open access to the arts is one of the fundamental components of healthy communities. The division of our programs into three different categories, each suited to specific types of learning-opportunities within the community, reflects our efforts to reach the largest and most diverse number of participants in the locations where exposure to the arts is most required and appropriate.
